Description

7 days to discover the Pyrenees in all their extent and diversity of landscapes, from high mountain excursions to impressive routes in the outer mountain ranges. The Spanish side of the Pyrenees is dominated by its spectacular viewpoints where we will have the chance to admire the whole mountain range with the sun in the back. Culture, traditions, gastronomy are the perfect complement to this 7-day course.

DAY 1 

RIGLOS


Its name says it all, Riglos, A road among the giants of the conglomerates, The one known as the road to the sky which will take us on a circular path to know "the Mallos of Riglos" from all its perspectives.

DAY 2

SAN JUAN DE LA PEÑA

 

The ancient monastery of San Juan de la Peña, is one of the most important examples of Aragonese Romanesque architecture. in the protected landscape of San Juan de la Peña and Monte Oroel,

We can take advantage of the visit to the Old Monastery and start the route directly which will lead us to the Balcony of the Pyrenees. In addition, we can discover the hermitages of San José, San Voto and Santa Teresa. A route where we will mix spectacular landscapes as well as the history of the kingdom of Aragon.

DAY 3

IBÓN DE PIEDRAFITA Y ARCO DE PIEDRA

 

An excursion to the real heart of the Pyrenees, along the same axis. We will go up to the discovery of the "ibón" or glacial lake of Piedrafita, accompanied along the way by the impressive north face of the Peña Telera, perhaps one of the most alpine walls of the Spanish Pyrenees. We will discover a geological gem that is the Piedrafita arc, undoubtedly a spectacular landscape that will make us live a 100% Pyrenean route

DAY 4 

ERMITAS DE YEBRA DE BASA

 

This excursion will show us one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Pyrenees, from where you can see Monte Perdido. But the most impressive will undoubtedly be the rock chapels dug in the vertiginous cliffs which guard the mountain of Oturia. A world class route that we cannot miss.

DAY 5

GUARA, ABRIGOS Y RIO VERO

 

We could not miss a route through the pre-Pyrenean mountain range of Guara, where across the thread of the Vero river, we will discover incredible landscapes of limestone, culture and cave paintings that will make us discover the life of first settlers. The Sierra de Guara is one of the sunniest places in the Pyrenees.

DAY 6

AGUAS TUERTAS

 

Aguas Tuertas is undoubtedly one of the most famous landscapes of the Spanish Pyrenees, located in the Hecho valley, these gigantic meanders, located in a unique landscape will make us enjoy one of the most sought after photos of the Pyrenees. In addition, we will discover all the megalithic constructions that exist in the area, where, at the time of finalization, we can visit the megalithic interpretation center, as well as carry out a tasting of the craft beers of the area.

DAY 7

PEÑA OROEL

 

The mountain of Jaca par excellence, surmounted by a gigantic cross, we discover one of the most spectacular views of the Pyrenees, from where we can see all the great peaks of the Pyrenees. The ascent is done through a dense forest where we can find some mushrooms and identify them, and later arrive at the bare area where our view can rise to the horizon.
